Cathedral City's Radio Shack is just one of 500 stores across the country selected to sell the iPad2.

So far, the only types for sale will be the 16g and the 32g--not the 64gig nor 3g equipped. You better be up early, though. The store is only getting those?two iPads. Literally.?One 16g and one 32g.

Monique Lopez, Sales Associate at the lucky Radio Shack, says that people have been calling in all day since the news came out, and have even?expressed the desire to wait outside the store to be one of the the first two iPad customers.

The decision to sell iPads at the Cathedral City Radio Shack comes after the store's high volume of sales. In a time when Radio Shacks around the nation are closing because of low sales, this may be a good sign for the Valley economy.

Despite the usual daily shipments to El Paseo's Apple Store, Dillon Forst, a Specialist at the store, says that they can sell out as early as noon.

Forst said it's not uncommon to see lines forming at 5:30, 6:00 a.m. To get in the store an hour before the store opens (that's 10 a.m.) just to buy the iPad2.

The Cathedral City Radio Shack opens at 9 a.m. and is located on 32-280 Date Palm Drive.
